The Krishna Key: Expectations

August 5, 2012

Indian mythology seems to be the new exciting trend now. After reading Amish Tripathi’s first two books of the Shiva Triology and Ashwin Sanghi’s Chanakya Chant, people are asking for more. Now the book “The Krishna Key” by Ashwin is about to be released by the end of this month. Expectations are high about this book which has already made many people wait eagerly to lay their hands on a copy of it. Hope it turns out to be a thriller and a page turner like the previous ones.

Here’s the overview of the book which is up for pre-order on many sites:

Five thousand years ago, there came to earth a magical being called Krishna, who brought about innumerable miracles for the good of mankind. Humanity despaired of its fate if the Blue God were to die but was reassured that he would return in a fresh avatar when needed in the eventual Dark Age—the Kaliyug.

In modern times, a poor little rich boy grows up believing that he is that final avatar.

Only, he is a serial killer.

In this heart-stopping tale, the arrival of a murderer who executes his gruesome and brilliantly thought-out schemes in the name of God is the first clue to a sinister conspiracy to expose an ancient secret—Krishna’s priceless legacy to mankind.

Historian Ravi Mohan Saini must breathlessly dash from the submerged remains of Dwarka and the mysterious lingam of Somnath to the icy heights of Mount Kailash, in a quest to discover the cryptic location of Krishna’s most prized possession. From the sand-washed ruins of Kalibangan to a Vrindavan temple destroyed by Aurangzeb, Saini must also delve into antiquity to prevent a gross miscarriage of justice. Ashwin Sanghi brings you yet another exhaustively researched whopper of a plot, while providing an incredible alternative interpretation of the Vedic Age that will be relished by conspiracy buffs and thriller-addicts alike.

Expectations from this book:

Now to consider the expectations that I personally have on this book. I think that the “Ancient secret – Krishna’s priceless legacy to mankind” which is to be exposed in the book might be the Bhagavad Gita. I think so because in Dan Brown’ s latest book “The Lost Symbol” the character Mal’akh infiltrates an ancient group in order to obtain an ancient source of power. There, symbologist Robert Langdon moves around places trying to figure out the code which leads to the ancient source of power. In the end it is revealed that the reference to the “Word” (which supposedly is the source of the power) is actually the Bible. When I read the summary of the “The Krishna Key” I felt that the character of Historian Ravi Mohan Saini will eventually end up finding that the ancient secret is the Bhagavad Gita. This is just my prediction.

All in all I hope this book becomes a bestseller again 🙂 I preordered this book and am eagerly looking forward to read it!!
